The Rekh-shenu are a tall, ibis-featured Celeshu species whose form and traditions reflect a deep association with Thoth, the god of knowledge, writing, and divine truths. Though they can fly, they have more of a reputation as intellectuals and scholars due to their connection with Thoth. They see flight as more of a tool than an identity, unlike the Talons of Horus, who consider the skies over Keshanar City their domain.
Rekh-shenu mature more slowly than Humans, reaching adulthood at around 50 years old and living to about 200. They tend to engage in decadeslong apprenticeships in their chosen occupations. Since their extended lifespan and slow maturation help foster their long views on history, many Rekh-shenu consider a long apprenticeship a necessary foundation, rather than a delay. As a result, they frequently gravitate to careers that involve intensive analysis and the maintenance of chronicles, such as wizards, scribes, and librarians. Rekh-shenu stand between 7 and 8 feet tall and average around 160 pounds.
