The Horus Guard was formed shortly after the founding of Keshanar City by Ra-Memnon. Their mandate began as the sworn defenders of the city and its people. As the centuries unfolded, they split into four divisions: the Blue, Gold, Black, and Gray, each identified by a sash of that same color. They took on responsibility for the security of all of Keshanar’s major cities.
All Horus Guards are proficient in Khet Ma’a and carry a Khet. For policing work, they use a rattan Khet, which can leave very painful welts but is less likely to break bones, making them ideal for crowd control. Hardwood versions are also sometimes wielded, and in the right hands, they can do serious damage. The Meresa, gold-sashes, and black-sashes are always armed and armored to the teeth with scale mail and Khopesh.
