From the Keshen “ren,” which means “identity,” and “Khepri,” a primordial god of creation, you have the name for the stocky, insect-like humanoids reminiscent of scarabs, known as the Ren-Khepri. They reach maturity at around 80 years old, can weigh anywhere from 250 to 400 pounds, and can live up to 450 years. Their thick, armored carapaces start off a dull tan or gray color, but as they age, their shells and wings begin to take on more intricate, colorful, and unique designs. They have a second set of smaller arms on the front of their torso that are useful for high-precision tasks but not suitable for holding heavy objects. Their wings can support their weight in flight, albeit quite slowly, which helps them avoid the dangers of falling, crossing wide chasms, and traversing over quicksand. These wings aren’t very useful for fleeing monsters or for battlefield mobility, though they do still add a vertical element to their movement.
