Bastet Statue (Table Flair)
Narrowing down the Egyptian pantheon for TKK (The Kingdom of Keshanar setting book) was difficult, to say the least. Every deity is fascinating, and their stories intertwine in a divine dance of competitive rivalries, family squabbles, shifting alliances, interlocking cosmic responsibilities, and the occasional murder. Of these Bastet is one of my favorites. The gods were mostly not associated with specific domains but after a years of playtesting and research, some logical association's emerged.
Of these, one the most gameable an interesting ones is Bastet, Goddess of Cats and Mortal Secrets. So when I saw these classic renditions of Bastet's cat form, I had to include them in the line up. Interestingly, the cats in front of the temple of Bastet in The Commerce Cauldera came before I found these models.
Check out the rough temple I made with these and our tomb tiles and the side by side comparison with the actual Temple of Bastet in Keshanar City. BTW the art if the temple of Bastet did not make the cut in the final copy of TKK during the layout process.

Worshipers often entreat her to help keep their personal secrets or acquire others’, but Bastet has a secret power that runs much deeper: any knowledge forgotten by all living mortals, or extinguished through death, becomes hers. These are the Secrets of Bastet. Ancient spells, unrecorded pacts, hidden tombs, and buried treasures lost to time all join a river of forgotten truths that flows only to her. To act on and guard her secrets, she commands her army of cats, creatures unable to reveal her confidences. Through these avatars, she influences affairs on Orthane in subtle but effective ways.
